program, centered around the theme of Militant Cinema

recognition of the importance of documenting struggles and expressing solidarity through the
medium of film. Filmmaking and screenings became instrumental tools for revolutionary mobilization
linking internationalist struggles across continents.
Our film cycle will particularly highlight Palestinian militant cinema. From the 1960s to the 1980s
filmmakers around the world produced a series of 16mm propaganda films in support of the
campaign for Palestinian self-determination.
We are thrilled to invite special guest Mario Hamad, who will be joining us at Friedensgasse to delive
two presentations on this captivating topic.
