Rights, and the Committee for the Rehabilitation of the old
Medina in Casablanca.
Dr, Boussad Aiche is an architect and historian of architecture,
Senior Instructor at the Department of Architecture, University
of Tizi Ouzou. His research covers 19th and 20th century
architectural and urban heritage in Algeria.
Adnen el Ghali is an architect and urban designer, has a degree in
Political Science, is a consultant on heritage and integrated devel-
opment in historic cities.
Zoubeir Mouhli is an architect and urban designer, director of the
Association de Sauvegarde de la Médina de Tunis. He co-authored
three publications about old and recent heritage in Tunis.

Dr. Mercedes Volait is an architectural historian specialized
in modern Egypt. She is CNRS Research professor at INHA
(Unstitut national d'histoire de l'art, Paris), and the editor of
the digital journal Architecture beyond Europe.
Mohamed Elshahed is a PhD candidate at New York University
investigating architectural and urban development in mid-
twentieth century Egypt. He is currently a fellow at the Berlin-based
Forum Transregionale Studien. He blogs at Cairobserver.com.
Dr. Khaled Asfour Ph.D. in Theory and Criticism (MIT). He is
Professor of Architecture at Misr international University, Cairo,
and writes extensively on Arab architecture.
Dr. George Arbid architect (ALBA) is Associate Professor at the
American University of Beirut. He holds a Doctor of Design Degree
from Harvard University, with a dissertation on modern architecture
in Lebanon. He is a founding member and director of the Arab
Center for Architecture in Beirut.
Dr. Caecilia Pieri is the head of the Urban Observatory at the
French institute of the Near-East, Beirut. A specialist of Iraq,
she is the author of Baghdad Arts Deco (1920-1950).
Dr. Khaled al-Sultany, architect, researcher, the Royal Academy
of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Copenhagen, Denmark,
Professor, Baghdad University, Iraq, Al-al-Bayt University, and al-
Balga’ Applied University, Jordan, author of many published books
in architecture.
Dr. Ashraf M. Salama is an architect, scholar, Professor of
Architecture and founding Chair of the Department of Architecture
and Urban Planning at Qatar University. His published research
covers design pedagogy, emerging cities, urban diversity and
architectural identity.
Noura Al Sayeh is an architect currently working as the Head of
Architectural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom
